A Movement that Unites

I believe we’re experiencing and progressing one of the most beautiful movements in American history. Right. Now. You. Me. Are all part of this positive change toward equality.

We’ve “talked about it” before, and made some progress toward it. But not enough. Until now.

Now we are putting action in front of our thoughts. We’re finally acting upon our desires. And it’s going to continue to take everyone of us staying engaged in action, and playing our part in equality for all.

Saturday night I walked in my first equality for blacks peaceful protest right here in downtown Gilbert. And it was amazing to see so many people of all colors out supporting and marching for black lives.

This is what we need to continue to do across the world. Starting in our own souls. Our own thoughts. Our own families. Our own towns and cities. Our own states and nation.

This is a movement that unites. And unity is exactly what we need. Because with Unity and a strong Community, we can positively impact the world with the power of Love.

Somewhere down every white Americans’ family line, mine included, there is a history of some type of racism. Sadly, to some generational depth, there was a white supremacy mindset in all of our white families.

While I know where I’ve always stood regarding racism and equality, I don’t know how far back that my family’s generations felt the same way.

On one side I really don’t know, considering I’ve never met my birth father, and only have a few memories of his father (my grandfather) from that side of my family.

So for the generations before then, I’m unaware of their stance on equality.

For them and any of the generations in my family line that may have had opposing thoughts regarding equality for blacks, I apologize for their actions and/or lack thereof.

And that’s exactly what every one of us needs to do – acknowledge what’s right and act upon it.

I’ve always had a positive mindset and will continue to do so because I get to choose that. While so many things in 2020 have affected so many of us negatively, I feel ultimately this will be different.

While we are enduring a very challenging year, we are actually part of what’s going to be the spark of equality, love and unity.

As long as we all continue to do our part, and listen to and support our black brothers and sisters, 2020 will be the year we followed through and equality became much more than a word..

it became the TRUTH that it should have been hundreds, thousands of years ago.

Black Lives Matter.
